Nimbuzz is a social messenger with fee that combines instant messaging,
presence (and geographical), and VoIP . The app is free and available
for the mobile, PC and web, for instant messaging,
location sharing, connections (and conferences), chat (and group), and
file sharing between communities between popular communities, including
Skype, Windows Live Messenger (MSN), Yahoo! Messenger , ICQ, Google
Talk, AIM, GaduGadu, Jabber and Twitter , plus 23 social networks
including Facebook , Orkut and MySpace .
The company was founded in 2006 Nimbuzz Evert Jaap Lugt and by Martin Smink.
In the 1st round of contributions, the company received an investment of
$ 10 million from Mangrove Capital Partners (Skype), MIH Group (QQ,
Mail ru, GaduGadu) and Holtzbrinck Ventures (StudiVZ, Kyte) on May 19,
2007 .
In the 2nd round of contributions, the Nimbuzz has received an
investment of $ 15 million from Naspers / MIH and Mangrove Capital
Partners on 1st June 2008 .
Nimbuzz is headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and offices in
São Paulo - Brazil, Córdoba - Argentina and New Delhi - India.
The company has users in all countries of the world (200 countries) and
was the only aggregator of mobile social messaging to win the famous Red
Herring Global 100 Award .
